3 ½ oz. bittersweet espresso-flavored chocolate
1 ½ sticks unsalted butter, diced
1 c. sugar
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/3 c. plus 3 Tbl. all- purpose flour
1 ½ c. walnut pieces (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°. Place chocolate and butter in a double boiler until melted, stirring frequently. Remove the bowl from the saucepan and stir in the sugar. Stir in the beaten eggs. When thoroughly combined stir in the flour, then finally mix in the nuts. Pour into a greased and base-lined 8×8 pan, spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted to the middle comes out clean. Let cool. Remove from pan and cut into 9 large pieces. Store in airtight container.
