Hot Apple Rolls

Hot Apple Rolls

These Hot Apple Rolls are a lot like a cinnamon roll with apples and pecans rolled up in the middle, with a cinnamon glaze. Like most Autumn apple desserts, it’s warm, filling and comforting!

Hot Apple Rolls

2 c. flour

2 tsp. baking powder

¼ tsp. salt

½ c. margarine

1 egg, beaten

½ c. milk

2 c. chopped apples

½ c. chopped pecans (optional)

2 c. water

2/3 c. sugar

1 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400°. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Cut in the margarine until crumbly. Add the egg and milk and stir to form a dough. Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness on a floured work surface. Top with the apples and pecans. Roll to enclose the filling. Cut into 1-inch slices. Arrange the slices, cut side down, in a nonstick 9×13-inch baking pan. Combine the water, sugar and cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook until clear, stirring constantly. Pour around the rolls in the pan, but not directly on the rolls. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.

Mic-Tip

  • Don’t roll the dough too thin or it will rip when rolling up.
  • The finer the apple are chopped the easier it will be to roll.
