A chicken crescent rolled in honey granola = a home run with my family! This recipe is easy, fun and delicious!
My dad is not a fan of spinach but when he tried it he said “well this is a good way to get kids to eat spinach”. I thought to myself, “or a good way to get DAD’s to eat spinach!” He loved the Chicken a la Crescents and he is one of my toughest critics, so when he asked me to make it again, I knew I had a winner!
Chicken a la Crescents
1/3 c. Home Sweet Honey Golden Girl Granola
1 (8oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 Tbl. butter, softened
1 tsp. parsley, chopped
½ tsp lemon & pepper seasoning
1 lb. chicken breasts, cooked and cut into bite sized pieces
¼ c. spinach, cooked or canned
1 can refrigerator crescent rolls
3 Tbl. butter, melted
On a cutting board, gently crush or chop granola. Place in a shallow baking dish and set aside. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, parsley, 2 tablespoons softened butter and lemon pepper seasoning. Separate crescent dough into 8 triangles; spread each with ¼ cup of chicken spread. Roll up, starting at shortest side of triangle and toll to opposite point. Tuck sides and point under to seal. Dip roll in melted butter. Roll in crushed granola, coating evenly. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.
– Have some extra filling? Pour in a small gratin baking dish, sprinkle granola on the top and bake until bubbly. Enjoy it as a dip with chips!
