Butterscotch Dumplings

On cold days in December and for a special Christmas treat, I love dishes that are warm and comforting. These dumplings are just that… plus so much more! Who wouldn’t love the rich flavor of butterscotch with a dollop of whipped cream on top!

Butterscotch Dumplings
Sauce:
2 ½ c. water
½ c. brown sugar
1 Tsp. butter
1 c. white sugar
Dumplings:
2/3 c. milk
2 c. biscuit mix

Bring water, sugars and butter to a boil in a large saucepan. Meanwhile mix together water and biscuit mix. Drop spoonfuls of mix into boiling sauce. Reduce heat to low and cook uncovered for 10 minutes. Then cook for 10 more minutes with a lid on the pan. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
